Watts of Love Community Check-In

Watts of Love is bringing people the power to raise themselves out of the darkness of poverty through solar lighting.

Nearly 1 billion people live in darkness. Entire communities living in poverty are without electricity and spend up to 30% of their income on dangerous fuel for sources for light. This expense keeps them in a cycle of poverty and feeling hopeless. Watts of Love is a 501(c)(3) organization bringing solar light to the people living in these situations. Access to solar light eliminates the need for a costly fuel source, offers immediate savings, and allows people to continue activities after dark which increases their overall happiness. Watts of Love also teaches financial literacy so people know how to turn their savings from the solar light into a sustainable sources of income. Watts of Love has impacted over 393,050 since their founding. By giving people living in poverty solar light, they are able to increase the household income by an average of 15%. That 15% transforms the safety, health, economic prosperity, education, environment, and the future of individuals and families for generations to come.
