Celebrate Argyle

Celebrate Argyle is a community initiative that aims to shine a spotlight on immigrant-owned restaurants and businesses in the West Argyle Historic District as a unique culinary destination, while also connecting community members to critical resources to meet pressing needs through the pandemic and beyond.

Asia on Argyle is a diverse and vibrant neighborhood in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood that is home to dozens of Asian restaurants, shops, and hidden treasures. With the recent concerns from the pandemic and a worrying trend of anti-Asian rhetoric, Nuky Pham, Hac Tran, Sany Nguyen, Hoan Huynh, and Trang Truong-Hill felt compelled to start a community initiative called Celebrate Argyle to help shine a light on the businesses and people that call Argyle home.

Celebrate Argyle's goal is to amplify the community’s rich immigrant stories, those that shape, define, and impact Asia on Argyle. They highlight local restaurants and businesses through storytelling campaigns and digital media marketing that further elevates community voices. Celebrate Argyle said, "Working alongside community members and partners, we continue to foster and co-develop a shared vision of a thriving Argyle, building on our community assets and collective strengths, while connecting our community members most left behind to critical resources and services to address current challenges."
