Mission

Lincoln Park Community Services brings communities together to empower individuals facing homelessness and poverty to secure stable housing and make sustainable life changes.

About

Lincoln Park Community Services (LPCS) is a year-round, multi-site operation that houses 120 individuals facing homelessness each night. The organization was founded in 1985 as a seasonal overnight shelter that rotated between four churches: Saint Clement, Lincoln Park Presbyterian, Church of Our Savior, and St. Pauls UCC. While LPCS now has its own locations, these churches still play an integral role in the organization.

Lincoln Park Community Services offers four core programs: Interim Housing, Affordable & Permanent Supportive Housing, Drop-In Services & Community Outreach, and Graduate Community. Interim Housing involves LPCS's two 24-hour shelters that both house up to 83 people. Within this program they also have Case Managers who offer individualized and goal-setting support using their "On-Track" method which focuses on mental and physical health, employment, education, and addiction recovery. Affordable & Permanent Supportive Housing offers project-based housing units as well as independent housing and support services for those with disabilities, serving about 37 people per year. Drop-In Services & Community Outreach offers weekly outreach as well as drop-in services such as showers, laundry, clothing, meals, etc. LPCS serves about 200 individuals annually with this program. Graduate Community offers continuous services to individuals who have graduated from the Interim Housing services. This program serves about 80 people annually. Lincoln Park Community Services is committed to helping those facing homelessness make sustainable life changes, and their Bell Ringing Moments are a great example of this. When an LPCS interim housing Guest meets their goals, obtains independent housing and is ready to move out of the shelter, they are celebrated with the "bell ringing ceremony". Guests ring the mission bell as a symbol of their progress and the mark they've left on the LPCS community.
